About the Kent Moths Gallery

This blog is intended as a gallery of photos for all moths found in the county of Kent. Please send through your quality images (and links to your websites) of moth species caught yesterday or yesteryear in order that this can become a complete archive of Kent's moth fauna.

Many thanks,

White Spot (Hadena albimacula)

Caught on 31/5/2011 in an MV trap at St Margaret's at Cliffe. This is a red data species with a stronghold on the chalk cliffs of the south coast. The larval food plant is Nottingham Catchfly (Silene nutans), caterpillars feed on the seeds at night.
