About the Kent Moths Gallery

This blog is intended as a gallery of photos for all moths found in the county of Kent. Please send through your quality images (and links to your websites) of moth species caught yesterday or yesteryear in order that this can become a complete archive of Kent's moth fauna.

Many thanks,

April micros for the gallery

Phyllonorycter oxyacanthae

Phyllonorycter nicellii

Phyllonorycter acerifoliella

Phtheochroa rugosana

Elachista rufocinerea

It has been a fantastic couple of weeks for moths to the garden trap and also when out dusking, added to which my leafmines are emerging almost too quickly for me to keep up. Have enclosed a few photos for addition to the gallery:

Phtheochroa rugosana, 24th April, Aylesham garden trap, 125w MV
Phyllonorycter nicellii, ex mine on Hazel, 21st April
Phyllonorycter acerifoliella, ex mine on Field Maple, 20th April
Phyllonorycter oxyacanthae, ex mine on Hawthorn, 16th April
Elachista rufocinerea, one of many dozens on grassland adjacent to the house, dusking, 23rd April
